Hi

I have two tables; 'Menu List - Applicant' and 'App Details'.
I'm trying to build a query that searches for a specific Applicant.
The Applicant is chosen from a combo box[Appname] on a search form [Searches].

The Combo box has as it's row source SELECT [Menu List - Applicant].App FROM [Menu List - Applicant];

The Query is based on the App Details table, the criteria for Applicant is Like [Forms]![Searches]![Appname] I have also tried = [Forms]![Searches]![Appname] No matter which I get asked to enter Parameter Value for Forms!Searches!Appname

I've done this thing so many times with no problems, I'm pulling my hair out! The two tables aren't linked, but I don't think they have to be...am I wrong? ANy help would be most appreciated,

Thanks

Frank

Have you tried just running the query that your combo is based on? Does it return rows? BTW, its better to leave out hyphens that may be interpreted as minus signs in the name of controls...

This message means of course that the app can't see the object invoked. Check the name (not always the same as its label!) and make sure the form with the combo is actually open when the query runs.

I tried using a query (based on the Applicant list Table) as the row source for the combo box and this worked. Why it didn't work using the Applicant list table I have no idea. Anyway, problem solved.

Thanks
Frank
