simple question about Check Boxes

I have a form with 4 check boxes. They are all assigned to a table seperately by using the Yes/No Datatype.

When I go to Regular view the check boxes are grey until they are checked. Is there a way to make them white always?

Give them a default value of 0 (False/No/Off)
