Simple Question....When loading a Form that is linked to a table how do u default it to a new data entry on form load???

Data Entry

Go to the Form Properties, on the Data Tab, set Data Entry to "yes".
When opening the form it will be ready for entry in a new record.
Good Luck. Trucktime

Thanks mate for that.....Much appreciated! :)

Or if yiou want to see the previus records also then
on the onload event of the form

Docmd.gotorecord,,acNewRec

had same problem - but it has generated another, ugh!

Hope you don't mind me coming into this conversation - but had the same problem re: wanting new blank form to display but with my existing records in the background to scroll through.

After following mohammadagul advice, it worked!! :)

But , now - when I select my employee number from my combo box which was previously OK, - I get that usual error message saying that "you cannot add or change a record because .....blah, blah , blah" so why has it decided to go wrong??? Is this problem, unrelated to the original -- where am I going wrong, again!

I'm also tryiing to get my form to open to add records. On Form Properties, on the Data Tab, I set Data Entry to "yes". When I open the form it still goes to the FIRST record, and when I use the arrow at the bottom to go to the last record, the add record botton is grayed out. It's as though when I selected "yes" for Data Entry, Acccess interpreted "yes" as "no."

How do I fix this?

Thanks
