simple report question

I have a report that is grouped by state. In the details of each state I have customers. However, when i run the report the same customer is listed several times because there are that many line items for the customer.

How can I get the report to sum the customer if the name is the same.

goal: to have the detail list the customer only once even if there are multiple line items for that particular customer.

please help

select the customer field then right click select properties then select the format tab then set hide duplicates to yes
