Simultaneous form view & datasheet view
Hi, Hope you can help....
My problem revolves largely around ergonomics, where records are displayed in form view, but the user also needs to see a datasheet view or "list" of all the records, not just the selected record.
So, form view on the left, showing the selected record, and datasheet view on the right showing all the records, where the left and right views a synchronised. Moving to the next record on the left form view steps to the next record on the right, datasheet view.
Clicking on a record on the right, datasheet view must take the left form view to the selected record. Get it?
Would appreciate any guidance at this time.. (Access 2003 on XP)

Thanks

I think you need Access 2007 - this is a new feature called Split View.
You can also acheive this manually in 2003 but it will take a bit of work.

Good luck,
Evan

in previous versions you could achieve something similar depending on what you actually need:

you can add a listbox with all the record data in it and for it to jump to the correct record when you select it. you can create such a listbox by using the wizard and choosing option # "3" - "find a record based on my selection in the listbox" (or words to that effect).

will this suffice?

alternatively, you could possibly create two forms of the same data - one in datasheet view, the other in form view, then add them to an unbound form as subforms - then make the appropriate master/child links.
