Slimfast for Access

I have noticed if I open an empty database, and import everything- tables, forms, queries, reports- the "new" database is significantly smaller then the old one- yet it is the same thing.

Why? what am I losing? Am I losing something important?

Have you every compacted your db?

Compacting the db will remove the excess fat. Deleting an object or records does not decrease the file size. That will not happen until the db is compacted. Access 2000 and newer has a Compact On Close switch in the "options" menu.
