I use SMTP to send emails from my application. This works very well when I use a dial up connection but fails when I am behind a firewall. I get the following error: Run-time error '-2147220973 (80040213)': The transport failed to connect to the server.
What I want to do is to either be able to trap this error and exit sending the SMTP mail or get a code that can determine if I am behind firewall. If I am behind a firewall, the user will get a prompt to change his internet connection.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
