Hi All,
Thought I'd share a solution to a problem I've been having today.
Problem
Word (our Ver is 2003) crashes when attempting to connect to an Access DB (again 2003) whilst creating a Mail merge document.
Strangely, previously created documents still work, even when refreshing the data.
No change in OS, app versions or any obvious DB changes were made that could have caused Word to stop connecting to the DB.
Solution
Tick "Confirm conversion at open" in Word (under Tools, Options, General tab).
Then when connecting to the Data Source during mail merge, choose "MS Access Databases via DDE (*.mdb, *.mde)" when the Confirm Data Source box appears.
Credits go to this thread for starting it off!

Any comments would be welcome as to why this could have happened in the first place(?) I checked for exclusive locks, DB corruption, etc but to no avail.
