Hi All,

Evidently I was trying to "improve" the look and security of my subform and I've changed something -- I don't know what. Now, I've set myself back when trying to get things working.

I've attached a screen shot so you can see my form. The upper right subform is the Family subform. The text box between the family subform and neighbor subform links the two subforms on PeopleID.

When it was working, there was no horizontal scroll bar (it's set to vertical only) for my family subform. When it was working I could add a person to the neighbor subform and they would show in the family subform. Now I get an error message saying "The Microsoft Office database engine cannot find a record in 'tblFamily' with key matching record 'FamilyID'."

Both Family and Neighbor Subform
Data Entry = no
Allow additions = yes
Allow deletions = yes
Allow edits = yes (I think this should be no for the Family subform)
Allow filter = yes

Do you know where I've gone wrong? I was trying to change the security for the Family subform so it couldn't be viewed in form view, datasheet only. It's not a split form, pivot table, pivot chart.

Thank you for in advance for any help you can offer.

on your family subform, is field PeopleID numeric?
how do you set the value of sfm PeopleID textbox?

"The Microsoft Office database engine cannot find a record in 'tblFamily' with key matching record 'FamilyID'."

obviously the Link Child Fields is set to FamilyID, not on PeopleID.

Are your subforms properties
"linked master fields" and
"linked child fields"
still correct?

I apologize for the really late response, I was working on another project and now I've forgotten what changes I had made. I'm going to import the forms from the db I had posted in another post and start over.
