Sort greyed out

I am trying to sort by a single column and the sort buttons are greyed out for all the columns in my table.

I found this in help:
The sort buttons on the toolbar appears dimmed when the selected column or field does not support sorting. OLE object fields and calculated columns do not support sorting. But, I don't think any are OLE object fields or calcualted columns. Just simple text fields.

Note: Access 2003

Any suggestions?

Are you trying to sort them via the datasheet view or in a query?
