sorting in chronological order, not alphabetically

This might be a simple problem for some of you but not for me..

I did search this forum for a solution but could not find one..

Cross-tab query takes mmm yyyy from one query, week numbers, and other stuff and calculates number of occurrences per week.

Fine so far..I get the result I want (thanks to some of your anwers to other treads)

However, when sorted the "mmm yyyy" in the cross-tab query, it is sorted by alphabetical order, rather than the chronological order.

Also, I did try what was suggested in some of other treads in this form, and attempted to insert the original date field and sort from it (but hide it at the same time).

But since this is a cross-tab querry, I faild to do it.

Any suggestions.

Thanks already...

I take it the "mmm yyyy" you're talking about isn't a date field, but text?

Yes, it is text and Number.

It is like this..

December 2004
February 2005
January 2005

as you can see, the order is not chronological but alphabetical.

The January should have been above the February in the crosstab query result, but it sorts it based on alpha order.

Well make it a date field and there won't be any problem.
