Hi Folks,
I have made a query based on employee's table. The query includes EMP_NO, EMP_NAME and GRADE as 3 fields. based on this query i have a report named Employee_Grades. I have kept the sort ASCENDING on EMP_NAME. the query runs perfect when it is run through query window. but when call this query through a report the sorting is not in place. there is no sorting effect in reprot. my head is spining why would that be the case.
The names in the EMP_NAME are like this:
A.JAMES
S.STALLONE
A.CRIST
H. JOHNSON
R. BURKE
I WISH TO SEE THE SORTED BASED ON THE FIRST THREE CHARACTERS OF THE NAME. LIKE THIS
A.CRIST
A.JAMES
H.JOHNSON
R.BURKE
S.STALLONE
regards
and thanks for reading
