Split Database

Is it possible to re-join a split database? If so how...? If not is there a work-around...?

Yep, in one of the Db, goto File/Get External Data/Import Data.
Select the other Db and import whatever you want. If you import from be - fe you will need to remove the linked tables from the fe though (do this before importing the actual tables - makes identifying them easier)
