Split Forms and Navigration Forms

After searching online, it seems that it is not possible to use a Split Form inside of a Navigation Form. Every piece of online advice says to create a replica of your Split Form in an ordinary form and use that in your Navigation Form.

I have tried this with no success in being able to mimic my Split Form. In my Split Form, I can click on a record in the table below and the record will show on the top side of the form. For whatever reason, the record on the top side of the form does not change when I click on a record in the table below.

I have tried linking the Master fields but no success.

Any help would be appreciated.
