Hi All,

I have just finished rebuilding my database, the reason: the old one didn't want to allow me to create a new MDE file after some changes were made to the Back end. I have got a copy of the database on disk now, so I wouldn't need to rebuild the damn thing ever again!!

Can someone, in plain english, please explain how I go about splitting this up succesfully. I have done it before, but can't remember how.

I wil also need to create MDE files on 3 individual PC's.

Any Help will be appreciated.

Thanks

ok if ur using access xp version you go to tools, then databace utitlites then data bace splitter.. u then add the front end to each of the computer desktops, and the backend to a hard drive on your network.. i found the access xp help very useful on this subject

Another Way

Hello,
Another way is to create a Blank Database and name it "Your Database name FE" and import all the objects, "Forms"Queries"Reports"Macro" ect but not the tables
onces you have done that create another one that and name it "Your Workorder name BE" in this one put all your tables. After that you use the FE to go to all pc's and the BE to the hard drive.

Just thought I shared!!Its time to help out, give back yo the forum.
