I have a problem with an Access 97 database.
My startup has disappeared. I've gone back to to Tools | Startup "Display Form/Page" and selected the form.

BUT!
Everytime I go back it goes back to NONE.

I've tried repairing the database. It tells me it successfull :p

When I compact it it tells me the records can't be read as no read permissions. I have administrative rights and have checked all permissions on tables, queries, forms, database etc. I have adminstrative rights on everything.

I am in Windows XP. The same thing happens in 98

2000 clients get a message telling them the Jeb db engine has stopped processing as they are trying to change data at the same time as another users.
If you click help it says Error 3197.
There are no other users in the database!

Any ideas please?

re-install Access!

I had this problem in Access 97,

our IT team put in down to me making a change to the database somewhere, whilst a user was also in the database.

whether this is the reason it happened I am not sure!

anyway,

the way I found to solve it was either to make a Autoexec macro and put in there the startup routine.

i.e. hide database window, open front-end form etc

or

re-install access, this seems to reset the startup box. and this worked for my database.

hope it helps.

regards

John
