Strange Behavior in Chart (displaying wrong data)

I've been having an ongoing issue with a number of graphs in my database.

Basically the problem is that the chart is not displaying the same data as the query that generates it. I can go into MS Chart by double clicking the graph and when I look at the X-variable data in the table there it goes from 0-30. But the graph goes from like 100-600. The shape seems more or less the same as expected, but I'm not sure.

Now, if I go up and switch the "By Coulmns" to "By Rows" and then back again the data displays as normal. After saving the form the data displays correctly.

I've seen these problems before but they weren't that common and my workaround would fix it. The problem seems to only occur if I enter design mode. If it's working right and only open it in normal 'view' mode then it stays working. Now, because I am having that problem in multiple graphs on the same form, I can't seem to fix it.

I found this article that seems to discuss the subject:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/317155

but I'm not sure, and the "On Format" solution does not work for forms. Either way the solution here seems like duct tape and I would like to think that for a problem that existed all the way back in Access '97 there would be a better solution for it.

Anyways, anyone have any thoughts?

Edit: Just to be clear, this isn't a formatting issue. The x-variable data is simply NOT what I am getting in the query, or even what Microsoft Chart is showing in the datasheet.

Edit: Whoops sorry double post

bumping this again, still trying to figure this out. Just to reiterate the problem the graph will go wonky (technical term) and display incorrect data or data from previous data sets from time to time. When I open up microsoft Chart to manipulate the graph and switch it from "data in columns" to "data in rows" and back again it refreshes to the correct dataset, but then the problem quickly reappears/the chart doesn't save the fix.

It's a very strange problem in that it involves MS Chart, and seems to have something to do with it not being fed the correct data from the query (data is clearly from a previous query)
