Hi there,
I have an access 2000 database split into front and back ends that i compact on a daily basis and was wondering about something strange i have noticed over the last day or so...
1) The front end starts compacted at 4.5Mb
2) I add about 10 small lines of code and test to make sure they're working.
3) Then Re-compacting the database leaves it at 5.9Mb.
A 1.5Mb increase in size is a bit much for adding about 50 words of code?
Even when i create a new database, pull through all the existing database objects, create existing references and then compact again it still doesn't shrink!
Surely we don't have to start putting databases in the washing machine at too high a temperature to shrink them?? lol
Any ideas here anyone?
Vince
