I have an .mde file stored on the network with several users pointed towards the .mde file. When one user in particular opens up the database they get the following warning error:

"There is no object in this control" -OK-

Once the user clicks -OK- the .mde file continues to open up and work just fine.

If anyone has seen this before let me know.

Thank you,

T.J.

Is this a FE/BE application? If so, The error will be in a FE form. Else, dunno??

Thank you for your response.

The database I am asking about has a MS Access BE .mdb file, and the FE .mde file is the file that is showing this error when the database is opened.

Thank you again.

"There is no object in this control"

Usually means that you are using one of the extended controls that you get when you have the form/report controls toolbar and click on the tool symbol. Many of these are .OCX files (Active X). If so, they must separately be registered in your .MBD file or you will get the message.

If you can check the FE database to find forms related to Active X functions (Common Dialog box is a real biggie in this arena), then you are part of the way there.

To fix this, get into any code window, then follow MENU path

Tools>>Active X>>

You will get a dialog box with a list of registered controls plus a Close, Register..., and Unregister box. If you follow the Register button, it brings you to a browser box that lets you find the .OCX files (usually in the /System32 folder under Windows). Select and register any Active X files you think you will need. That might help.

Thank you

Thank you for your time on this, I will try it out and if anything else comes up I will post a new topic.

Thank you again,
