Strange typing behaviour

I'm sorry that I haven't searched on this, but I cannot really think what crieria to search under.

Basically, my problem is that when I type VBA in my control events and other modules, the cursor keeps doing weird things.

Spaces dissapear and the cursor jumps ahead so that suddenly I'm typing behind characters that I have already typed. Makes typing code very difficult.

It was happening on my old computer, and I thought it was a problem with that, but I have upgraded the computer and bought a brand new copy of Office Pro, and I'm still getting the same problem.

Anyone got any suggestions, please?

That is one of the symptoms of timer code running somewhere.

That could be it.

I pasted a little clock routine into my switchboard page when I was bored one day, so there's a timer running the whole time, I suppose.

Solution to close the switchboard page when I'm writing code, or is it likely to be indicitive of potentially greater problems and should I delete the routine entirely?

JUst close the switchboard when you edit.

Yep. Turning off the form does the trick.
