Strange....

I have a form that I call "UPDATE." When a user makes a change, but decides to hit the close button the following message appears....."Write Conflict" "This record has been changed by another user since you started editing it. If you save the record, you will overwrite the changes the other user made.......It then gives me three options. 1.) Save Record 2.) Copy to Clipboard 3.)Drop Changes. When I click "Save Record" it does nothing. When I click "Drop Changes" it tells me I can't save the record at this time.

In a memo field it deletes everything I have in that field and inserts a "#Error". It will then not even let me change this field in the table view. It says, "The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time.

Does anyone have a clue on why this doing this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you are on a network, could it be possible someone else is using the program too?

If not I would try Compacting the data base.
Tools>Database Utilities>Compact and Repair Database

If that doesn't help, you could try putting your Microsoft Office disc in and select 'Repair'
This takes a long time though.

This is something that I try when Access acts wierd.
