And, to Lol Owen, why do you have so many forms with similar names?

Because theyr'e all form the same dbase and I'm a bad boy!

I know about naming controls with prefixes etc, i learnt that when I did VB last year, jst never got around to doing it in my acces forms

On the subject of my ignorance can anyone reccommend a list of good VBA books? I'm using the VBA for Dummies book but that doesn't have anywhere near the info I've got from here and the Access built in help.
Suggestions please?

I dont read books, I just stick to the .chm and msdn.microsoft.com.

Microsoft Press normally puts out good books though. Try checking out:

I haven't looked at this book at all, I just went to that page and looked at the index and it covers a lot. So I would go to a bookstore and actually see if it's what you're looking for.

Access 2003 VBA , programmers reference published by Wrox is very comprhensive

Agreed on the Wrox Press VBA Books. The Access 97 book was the one I started on although, if you want something more advanced you can refer to for a longer period of time then the Access Developers Handbook is, in my opinion, the best; especially when complemented with VB & VBA In a Nutshell.
