stuck - help please

Hi

I want to use MS access to build a diary / appointment system, and a table for storing contact details.

I am struggling with the appointment system. I was going to try a table with the date and diffefent app times as fields. then put it into a form so that it looked like a diary page and i could just add names to the times., this would have ollowed be to scroll backwards and forwards through the dates with ease (as each day would be a new record)

The problem i have found is that this makes running quires on individuals difficult,i would like to see for example how many appointments a person has missed, the dates of there next appointments if they have pre booked ect.

any suggestions as how i should go about this?

Why not use Outlook?
 
I have looked at the samples, nothing there that is similar to my needs.

I have decided against outlook, as i would like to be able to look at the data and see hw many appointments have been missed by each person, print a list of appointments for a specific person, and keep specific records of details of the appointment, i cant get these from outlook. i will also then be able to edit my database appointments to send a blanket email to all clietns that missed an apointment each day.

just need to kno the best way to set up my fields so i can do a query on the clients, and have a new record / day
 
an appointment system is relatively easy to do - but you want something to look like a diary
thats what throws a spanner in the works

you could have enter in a date and see if any bookings - but you want to scroll through like a diary , this compoounds the problem beyond my capabilites- you need someone who knows what they are talking about
or to tweak one of the diarys already out there
