I've been at this all week and I hope that someone will be able to understand what I need.
I had to take a lot of thigs out of my database (including my form) in order to make it fit to attach it.
I'm also attaching a copy of all my relationships that I have in my database as well as a print screen of what my form looks like.
Sorry, but I just couldn't figure out how to make it fit into 1 database.
Everything is on 1 form, but there are 2 pages to it.
Where I'm stuck is that for each project, for each staff member in a certain unit with a certain manager there could be up to 5 sets of functional areas as well as start/end dates. I only have 2 sets on the forms for right now.
Right now this only works for 1 set of start/end dates and only 1 functional area.
There has to be a way to make this work and due to the lack of my experience and knowledge I can't seem to figure it out.
One person can have same Project, Unit, Manager, and Functional Area, but for different set of dates. That's what I'm trying to accomplish.
I hope that I've expressed myself clearly, but if there are any questions I will try and answer those. I'm really stuck on this one and it's getting to the point where it's just driving me crazy...that I know so little.

jeo,

What you're describing sounds like "Cascading Combo-boxes". You seem
to have your tables set up OK. Have you used the Search Facility here
and looked for "Cascading"? Or look in the Sample Database section here.

I got the cascading boxes thing down and fixed everything in my database, however there is still 1 problem.
When I click on my form to select a Functional Area, I'm not storing that value in FAID because I need up to 5 Functional Areas with 5 different sets of dates.
I know I'm doing this wrong because right now it creates a new FA for every entry and I don't want that (see print screen). What I need to happen is I want to assign different Functional Areas depending on a unit (which I have already figured out how to narrow down my list for the Functional Area drop down) up to 5 times with their own startdate/enddate/fte/comments.
Do you think that spliting up my 5 Functional Areas and the corresponding with them fields (Start1, End1, FTE1, Comments1) into 5 different tables would be the answer to my problem?

Thanks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! If there are any questions, please let me know as well. I really need to get this piece figured out. Thank you again!
