Sub Query produces an editble recordsource?

I thought that if you use a subquery you can't have an updatable query.
This has always been true for me.

But now I have a query that includes a subquery among its source tables and it is fully editable. Now I'm wondering if this is just a fluke, or if there is some logic behind it?

I've never tried - suppose it's hypothetically possible if linked correctly? Check this link, it only makes a case for when they are not linked.

What you have is the standard.

Queries that are not editable are things like when you use Totals.
