Sub Sub Form OnCurrent looping twice

Just as I had finished tidying up the original !!
Thanks vbaInet I will try what you suggest

peter

PS Is this forum running slowly or is just my connection?

No problemo!

There's sometimes a little snag with the connection, especially the forum part of the site.

Peter and vbaInet.

In the attachment in post #20 the Current event is not being called at all.
If it’s reconnected it is still called more than once, no change.

The problem can not be code related because it still happens in the attachment in post #18 and in that attachment the only code is a MsgBox in the current event.
As I said before, if two new forms are created and hooked up to the existing tables the current event is still called twice. But if the new forms are hooked up to two new tables then the current event is only called once.

This may very well be corruption but not corruption of the forms but corruption of the tables.

Chris.

Hi Chris, which form did you look at? Have a look at frmSites and the Current event of the subform Child36. I tried it before posting (plus tried it just now) and it was called once.

The problem from is the Call Record form.
Hook up its Current event again and see what happens.

PS.
Electrical storm here, I’m on a UPS but still may have to go off line sometime.

Chris.

I would have thought that the problem is to do with the Equipment subform? Even after completely deleting the Call Record subform the Current event for Equipment still runs twice.

frmSites is the one I created based on the same layout as Peter's original forms. I explained why in post #20.

UPS', you can only get 20 mins out of them. Unless you have a more powerful one?

No, the problem Form is the Call Record Form.

Look at the demo in post #18. You can put a Current event in the EquipmentRecord Form and it is only called once.

That’s why I trashed almost everything else, to get it to the bare minimum.

Chris.

Not sure if this 'answers' my own question or not but I have stopped the looping.

I exported the 3 table in question to excel and then imported them back into Access under new names. My reasoning being that if their was corruption it would either fall over or correct it. No errors came up.

Created the relationships between them.

Made a copy of my main form Call Entry and then altered the data source of the Form subform and subsubform to the new tables.

The resulting Call Record subsubform OnCurrent event now only cycles once

I am going to try it again but this time exporting them to Access tables directly to see if that has the same effect.

Peter

It's the structure, not the data, of the Equipment table but I don’t know what's wrong with it.

Chris.

Tried it with exported/imported Access tables and the OnCurrent event only passes once.

Peter
