I am using Access 2007 and having trouble with designing the input form based on a current manual procedure using a card.

I have attached my database (so far) and a sample card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please provide an example of what is not working, why, and if you have taken any steps and which to try to address the problem.

Also refer to the guidelines.

Sorry about the lack of information.

The subform frm_observed_activities is a subform of frm_safety_category. They work fine together.

The subform (frm_safety_category) will not show anything when linked to the main form (tbl_safety_review_situation - this should have been prefixed as "frm"...sorry).

I tried linking these two forms by an auto-number PK called "safety_category_tracking_ID" in the tbl_safety_category and a FK with similar attributes and field name in the tbl_safety_review_situation but got the same results.

I have also tried using the subform frm_observed_activities by itself within the main form tbl_safety_review_situation but got the same results here too.

I want to keep separate tables for safety categories and observed activities because this data will have new entries and changes over the course of time.

I guess my problem comes down to finding a proper link between the tbl_safety category and/or tbl_observed_activities with tbl_safety_review_situation.

I was hoping that maybe there was some other way such as VBA code, which I am not familiar with.

It looks to me like everything is in order.
The linked field is safety_category_class, so i created a record in tbl_safety_review_situation and everything went smooth, form, subform and nested subform.

Okay Mike, now I'm confused. What do you mean by 'everything is in order'?

When I open the form called tbl_safety_review_situation (prefix error here...) I see only part of what I expect to see. I do not see anything for the safety category and the observed activities! I want to see everything.

Mike, did you make any changes to a form or table or tweak anything?

If so, can you attach the revised database so I can see what you are talking about?

I mean it looks to me like you've properly set up everything, you just need records in the table so that the main form can read an ID to link to the subforms.
