Hi everyone, its been 4 years since I've had to build a database and there is something I can't figure out.

frmActiveDesign is my main form and I have 3 subforms (single form combo boxes) sbfrmBranch_ActiveDesign, sbfrmConsultant_ActiveDesign and sbfrmPM_ActiveDesign. There are also a few other fields such as Type and DateRangeEnd. The data in the subforms will not save, even if I click the save button when I come back to that record everything is filled out expect the subforms.

My main table is tblActiveDesign, and I have linking tables such as tblBranch_ActiveDesign to my other tables such as tblBranch. I notice that my linking tables aren't getting updated with the primary key from tblActiveDesign, does this have something to do with dynaset?

no, it is to do with the subform linkchild and linkmaster properties. They need to be completed with the appropriate child/master fields in the relationship.

If you enforce referential integrity in the relationships window, these will be populated automatically when you create the subform, otherwise (and for existing subforms) you'll need to populate them manually
