Subform focus ? - first field highlighted

Hi All,
There is probably a really simple answer to this! I can't see it yet.

I have a main form with a subform. The subform lists [Forname] and [Surname] of people on courses, based on a month selected from a combo box on the main form.
How can I stop the [Forname] field of the subform being highlighted even though the combo box on the main form has the curser in it.
I hope you can help, it looks 'tacky' as it is
