My subforms do not seem to be link to the main form. i thought maybe it had to do with parent and child links however, after linking them . they still do not seem to be related. i also checked the relationships.

do the two tables of the subforms have to be linked? the two subform tables are linked to one main table- its not a junction tble.

inctble-main form-
gsmtble-subform -linked to inctble
scopetble-subform-linked to inctble

when you put a subform ON a main form, you should specifiy the link between the two forms

So the main form is typically a customer form, and the subform is an orders form. You don't need to do anything other than tell access that the customer in the main form is linked to the customer in the subform. Access will then synchronize the subform with the mainform

to manage the links manually, open the main form, click on the subform, and look at the properties.in the data there is a section for link child fields, and link master fields - if this is wrong (or blank) click in one, and then click the ellipsis to select the matching fields.

if you have a holding/container main form, and 2 sub forms you want to link to each other, then the method if linking is a little different, and needs some code

its not that i want to link them together bc they are independent tables. i am asking do i have to link them together bc they apparently are not linked on the main form. i have ck the parent child properties, but still not linked.
