Subform need help really confused

I have a main form with 4 unbound fields. These fields are used to aid the user in entering data into a subform that will open when the 4 fileds have information. If the subform opens and the user closes the form with out entering any data in the subform I get a blank record or incomplete records in my table. Why? and most important how to I stop it?

Are either of your forms Data Entry forms?
Does the subform have Allow Additions? If you are adding to it via text boxes on another form, I always make it Allow Additions false - that way it prevents additions to the form other than the code you've got to add records.

If neither of the above are relevant, are you able to post a copy of the db?
