Subform Reference

Hello all,

I have attached a jpeg of my issue to explain better, i must not be understanding subform control correctly (despite the standard http://access.mvps.org/ link). I have a series of subforms that run (they are the third level subforms off the main form). i have 6 text boxes on the left looking at various text boxes in the footers of the "subforms3". all the subforms when the form loads do not have a source object until i assign them in the click command of a run button (speeds the on open of the form). As you can see in the six text boxes i do not get any results or errors (the totals boxes are dependent on the info from the 2 boxes above them)

i have tried to put the control sources as

[forms]![subform1].[form]![subform2].[form]![subform3]![footertxtbox]
and
[subform3].[form]![footertxtbox] and various other combinations

I am sure there was a more efficient way to do this, but for anyone having the same issue, I have to on each of the five 3rd level subforms, OnOpen gotorecord, last, one i did that the values appeared in the blank textboxes.
