This week a few of my back end file records became corrupt. Upon trying to open the back end file, Access did its auto recovery of the file and it seemed that it fixed everything. But something is wrong now. All my data, records, tables, etc. are present and un-modified in the back end, but I cannot ADD any records from within any form in my front end.

I can open any linked table and add records directly, but in only a handful of queries can I add records directly (the others I can NOT, where before i could), and all forms will NOT let me add any records. I can view all, but it will not let me edit those existing also. I get an error in the status bar saying "This recordset is not updatable"

If link my front end to a backup copy of my back end, everything is working fine, which confirms the problem being in the current back end file. The problem is my front end file is way out of date.

I also tried creating a new back end file, and importing all tables from the "broken" current file, linking my FE to that file, but the same thing.

Any suggestions? Worse comes to worse, I can jsut use my backup, but even still for learning purposes I would like to figure why this is happening and how to fix it if it ever happens again.

if the primary keys are no longer defined this can cause issues.

I would recommend checking the back end to make sure all the primary keys, indices, and relationships/RI are still correctly set up.
