Hello!

My experience in Access is let's say very limited, yet I understand all principles and sometimes I just lack some of detailed knowledge about how to go with some of the stuff I want to do.

I have created a db (well, to be honest I did not know much access before I started building it around a week ago) which is acting as enquiries database. If we get any sort of enquiry it is being logged in through a form. Some details include if we quoted for doing a job for the company (date quoted, quote value, potential date when the job might start). If the quote hasn't been accepted enquiry is a potential customer.
If the quote is accepted this customer becomes a sale.
We usually take payments in full, splited into two payments (one up front, second after complition), or if it is a big job it is divided into 3 separate payments. So each of these is a separate field, and in addition it has a payment date.
Database runs as a set of forms with a switchboard that acts as a menu. You can add new enq, edit existing one and print reports. When you go to print report you enter month/year you would like to select and click to bring the report for it. Pretty simplistic, but this is to be used by people who don't know anything about Access so I had to make it more like a little application.

The secondary purpose of the database is to print reports of potentials and sales from a selected month.
I have querry to pull potentials out by conditions that: quote hasnt been accepted, potential payment date is in the month/year selected.
I do the same for sales but because I have to select only payments made in selected month I had to do it(I could not design querry that would do it the way I wanted - my lack of experience I guess) in 3 separate queries.
Each querry checks the different payment then and pulls out these made in the selected month.
From these three querries I have a report that lists all these with details as: Company, Enquiry type, amount paid, with the total.
I am trying to create a report that will list all this sales data and then total all of them.
I am doing it by designing a new report and puting those three reports as subreports, and I put in a new text fields to calculate the total of money that was paid that month.
I have a little problem with this total (described here http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=154733).

If some of you masters of MS Access ;) could possibly give me some suggestions on improve on my design to make it better in any way it would be great. Prime example of my inexperience is that I use a little form to get data for what month and year the report should be printed and as long it is open it all works (querries use the data typed into the text boxes as variables so if it not present everything doesnt work).

ANY suggestions are welcome.
Big thanks!

A suscinct question would get a good response.
