Hey I am needing to sum columns in a report. The report is taken off a crosstab query. I tried putting =sum([YTD]) as a text box in the page footer section. That could totally be off. Where am I going wrong? Please guide me through this!!

Actually, =Sum([YTD]) {if YTD is a field in your underlying recordsource} is totally valid. What wouldn't make sense is putting it on the PAGE footer. You either need it in a group footer or report footer to make it meaningful.
 
how do i get to the group footer? one does not appear in design view
 
In design mode of the report you click VIEW > SORTING AND GROUPING and select the group under Field/Expression there is a property under Group Properties that says GROUP FOOTER. Change the NO to YES.
