hello there...ive a question...i have a summing query which searches for the word "processed" in a specific column of a table...currently if "processed" is not found within the column the query will not return anything...is there a way to have the query return a zero instead?

If the query finds no rows, there's nothing to return.
So the answer to your question is no.

RV

SELECT Count(tblTable.FieldName) AS CountOfFieldName
FROM tblTable
WHERE (((tblTable.FieldName)="processed"));

...will return the number 0 if "processed" is not in the field

NOW... look up Like and the wildcard operator in Access help if you are looking for any occurence of "processed", not just the whole field.

is that code to be entered in an event procedure? how to do i use that in the query Design View?

thanks sooooooooooooooooo much.
