Our office has a FE/BE MS Access 2007 Project Tracking database system. Each user has their own copy of the FE database on their C-drive. We are currently going through an upgrade to our operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 7. Whenever a user with a Windows 7 OS opens Project Tracking, no one with a Windows XP OS can open the database without getting the following error message: "Could not use 'Admin'; file already in use". Has anyone else out there experienced this problem? Any help in correcting this issue is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am having this same issue right now, It doesn't look like there is much for hope for us judging by the number of responses haha. did you happen to figure it out?

Is the FE in a shared folder?

Even though our IT specialist told me all the user rights were set correctly, he very recently discovered the directory for the master front end database had restricted user rights. He corrected this problem, and now it seems the system is working properly as before. Evidently going from Windows XP to 7 automatically restricted the user rights to that directory.

They always say that don't they  And when you look at the properties of the folder it shows full rights.

Glad to hear it's sorted though.
