Hello
Im new to access and really need some help please.

I have a table with column headings i need to split up but dont know how to write it in code.

i want to split AA: Austrailia 1-3Years into AA and 1-3

i then want to compare both those string to another table and allocate a number in a further table. does that make sense?
please help!
many thanks

No sorry no sence to me...

Column name? And compare that to another table?

I am guessing you want to compare the values...

Is there any logic to your field you need to split? I.e. do you have more samples?

Hiya

Sorry, ok i attached a file with what im hoping to turn the left side into the right side. Basically my table headings/column headings are not helpful but cant change them. so i need to use something that can split the heading up.

that make more sense? i dont think it does!

You need to use sub-queries in a query to produce your results. You can name the columns in a query what ever you want.

You obviously cannot change the field names in the table, but you can have different headings in a query. Just alias the names in the query.
