Hello all,

I have a problem with a report. I have maybe 10 fields that are used in the report. One of the fields is called "Branch." What I would like the report to do is:

Group all the records with the same "Branch" together

and

Take a new page for a new branch.

So, in report design mode, I have made the Branch field a group header (using the sorting and grouping dialogue), and in ascending order. Keep together option is also chosen.

Next I change the Branch Header properties to "Force new page after section."

This is the result:

When a branch field is encountered, the branch field is correctly printed at the top of the page. However nothing else is printed on this page. The following pages then contains the correct reports, organised by branch.

However, when a new branch is encountered, again, a the branch field is printed at the top of the page, and the records in that branch then appear on the followin page.

ah!!!! Can anyone help me work this out please?

Thank you very much!

You need the page break before the Branch Header so force new page BEFORE section.

shay

but then blank page first!

ah!

If I do that, then the first page of the report is completely blank!

Apart from the report header & page footer.

So how can I make the report start correctly on the first page?

cheers

Try Force New Page After Section in the Branch Footer. You don't need the page break.

I think
