Only a couple of weeks ago we learned that the USA "saved" us from speaking German:rolleyes:

Christ, we're really pleased you lot are saving us from these nasty people

Sorry Vas,

I was only kidding. I got in from the Girl Friend’s parents’ house and decided to have a little fun.

(They’re such easy targets, and so cute to.)

You're doing cold turkey:confused:

Actually nope, I used the microwave.

But cold turkey does work for quitting drinking.

Thinking of quitting my pipe and cigars next, I sure will miss it.

Is it always on a Thursday or is the day less important than the date?
Always on Thursday...the last Thursday of November. Just as Easter is always the first Sunday after the first full moon following the vernal equinox...:D

Tryptophan is finally wearing off...nice to see I didn't miss much :D

I don't think it has worn off...

Thanksgiving isn't always the last Thursday of November, bur rather the 4th Thursday of November. This year we have five...one more to go. ;)

Thanks Vass...:o Note to self: No posting during Turkey Coma.

Surprised I managed the Easter date:eek:

So is thanksgiving over now?

Have you all cleansed your spirit and thanked a god for living in the USA? You know, dancing round the old flag on a pole in the front garden etc

Is thanksgiving like a Roman Catholic confessional? you feel good after it then continue doing the same as before anyway.

yes. Some do the whole "Let's go around the table and tell what we're thankful for this year" routine, but my family never did (personally, I find it a bit sappy, but I don't have to do it so it doesn't really matter)

In my familial circle, since it's a holiday, it becomes an opportunity to get together with as much of the family as you can and eat the largest meal you will have all year.:D I'll be lucky to finish off the leftovers before we leave on wednesday:eek: Of course, when you're married, you have two families, so we usually get at least two or more dinners. Nothing sappy, nothing religious, just a friendly get-together with people you find you don't spend enough time with...and then realize why by the end of the holidays:D
