the number of times a record appears in a table

Hi. I wasnt sure whether this should appear in the tables or queries forum so i put it in both.

How can i calculate the number of times certain data appears in a table? i want to be able to count the number of times a certain StudentID appears in my tblOldClassLessons

i tried to use a DCount but that didnt really work. any ideas?

Use a query with your ID field listed twice. Do not include any other fields. Set grouping, the sigma menu symbol. Then in the "Total:" row on the qery design, select Count for one of the ID fields. Then run your query.

Thanks. I cant believe that after a week of trying to this, uding allsorts of horrible codes etc, its turned out to be so simple.
