Happy birthday to all us Canucks online.

I used to live in Sault Ste Marie (that's pronounced "sue" - it is French for rapids), Ontario at the east end of Lake Superior. We would celebrate Canada Day and the 4th of July with Sault Ste Marie, Michigan on the American side with fireworks from a barge on the St. Marys River (the river separating the two cities). They could be seen from both cities - a nice way to say happy birthday to each other.

Any other joint celebrations?

Buffalo NY and Fort Erie Ont. have a similar joint celebration called the Peace Festival.

The gaggle of womenfolk in my family to be are having a Canada Day Pancake Breakfast for my future brother-in-law who's down visiting from the north country. Sadly I had to skip it...what with work, you know.

...Good thing I'm more of a waffle guy...

I also used to live in Windsor, Ontario across from Detroit - once as a child then much later as an adult. Detroit and Windsor used to put on a joint show on an island in the Detroit River called Boblo. But by the time I moved back they had stopped doing it. Too bad - as I recall it was a lot of fun.

We can go to the east end of Cornwall isalnd and canoe into Quebec then New York State and back into Ontario all in less then one hour. From June 24 through July 4 there is some sort of celebrations going on with St.Jean Baptist - Canada Day - Independence Day all happening in less then 2 weeks.
Happy Birthday Quebec Canada USA

Do they do similar at Niagra Falls ca and Niagra Falls NY?

As it happens I've never been there on July 1st-4th. However I think they have fireworks every night over the falls.

There are lots of fireworks displays on, it seems people like to have lots of noise to celebrate things. In Montreal there is an international competition every year http://www.internationaldesfeuxloto-quebec.com/en/.
Its a little too noisy and late in the evening for us, we perfer to go to local small local fairs aound here and also the powwow in September.
