I am converting from Windows NT to Windows XP. I have databases in access 97 which is in NT.
Converting the access 97 to Access XP would cause problems and I have heard there are some tools which are quite helpful in doing this conversion such as in case of modules and macros, because there are syntax changes in the versions. Please kindly suggest me some tools.
thanks

try opening your 97 db with Access XP, and it will automatically prompt you if you would like to convert it.

two of the database files worked but one file contains macros and it gives an error about AUtoExec and it just dont go ahead.
I have raised the question because one of my fellow told me that there are some tools which can automatically connvert the database into Access XP.

the problem is after the error message the application doesnt show anything and therefore i cant go into the code.

don't you have an Access 97 version anymore, where you can open your current database, and check the code you have into the autoexec macro ?

Because pasting your code, it might be easier for someone to suggest you how to alter your code to be compatible with the XP version.

i will get another computer today which has access 97 and then i will tell u abt the code.till then and thanks
