Totaling a set of results

If I have a quantity of items and a cost per item using a querie I can calculate the value of items sold. If I have 10 seperate items how do I sum the 10 values to give a figure for total sales to add to a report. The spreadheet equivalent is the @sum function.
I'm only a Noob to access and have no macros or VBA knowlege.
Any help gratefully received
