Is it possible to total numeric values with a field on a report, thankyou if any can help

Practice by creating a test report using the report wizard, it would ask you what field to summarize.

or check the sample northwind database, most of the reports have total/sum of fields.

Totals on a Report

you should be able add an unbound text box with the control source being =Sum([field])

This text box should be in the group, page, or report footer.
