Trim() and "On Not in List" Event Procedure

I modified the response to:
Response = acDataErrContinue

But it still has the exact same issue.

I'm admittedly inexperienced with VBA but it's acting like I'm trying to access an object or variable without it being declared. If the subform has no records associated to the form yet does the "Me." work?

Sure, empty records include the dissertations 19, 27, 79, 80, etc. This is kind of bulky right now.

You can download it from:

Which controls aren't working? It seems to work for me, but I may not be looking at the right controls.

I'm referring to the main form that pops up when the DB is opened, if it doesn't pop up it is the form "frmAddCitationsToDissertations". If you go into dissertation 19 of 254 (the main form, not the subform) and then try to enter a new title (one that is not in the drop down list), author last name or type it goes into a infinite loop if you try to enter a new record. This happens whenever you go to a dissertation that has no citations linked in the subform. It keeps popping up the message box which ask if you want to add the new record to the DB, if you click yes its an infinite loop. If you click no it sends you to debug on the me.requery.

Namliam's response was slightly incorrect. The part that keeps the error from showing up is:acDataErrContinue
Both false and acDataErrContinue contain 0, so either shouldnt matter.. both are 0

Response = 0 would also work :)

I will have to look at this in more detail later.

Thanks for the response. If you figure anything out I'll be eternally grateful.
