trouble updating personell only on some jobs

Hello eveyone,

I am recieiving an error of "You cannot add or change a record because a related record is required in table "T002Personnel"

To force the error, run form F001JobForm - Select and goto a job then try adding more than 1 employee to that job... most give me the error some do not.

On Edit: Please see attached file and I don't expect anyone to fix this (unless they insist) but just point out my error.

I downloaded your file and from the form displayed, I clicked the "Go To Job" button. On the jobs form I was able to add able to use the combo box to select an employee with no errors. I could not recreate and errors.

Maybe I missed something.

Mr B. It does it on most of the jobs, try some of them in the 40-12nn-L

If you noticed in the Function, I noted that this function only addressed 3 formats. The "40-12nn-L" doesn't even come close to being one of the formats you had posted. Another "Case" can be added to the function that will handle this new format type.

ON EDIT: I am still looking for the problem Mr. B. I have no idea which function you are speaking of. I did delete the input mask for the job number, thinking this may be part of it. In "Case" do you mean as in alphabet? Sorry for the questions.

Please disregard my post about the Function. I am getting Old and posted thinking about a different issue.

Now to address the real problem. I think your problem is in the way you have your relationships defined. Open the Relationship window and take a look a the relationship between the "T005PersononJobs" table and the "T002Personnel" table. You have "IDJob" field in the "T005PersononJobs" table linked to the "IDPersonnel" field in the "T002Personnel" table. It should be the "IDPerson" field in the "T005PersononJobs" table linked to the "IDPersonnel" field in the "T002Personnel" table.
