Hope someone can help me. I've been using Access since it was first introduced but have limited ability beyond simple tasks. In Access 97 I was able to design a text box on forms that allowed me to type in the first few letters of a person's last name and the form would then display that particular record. When I tried opening my database in Access 2000, I lost that function. I can find nothing in Microsoft's help guides. In Access 97 I would use a macro to "apply filter". The "where condition" is:

[lname] Like [Forms]![pending]![candidate] & "*"

I'm not even sure where I learned to create it but it has been a godsend to jump instantly to a person's record instantly. Could anyone help me?

Much obliged,

Pat Moore
