Hey guys

Anyone tried this - I have it running dual boot and I am quite impressed.

I am a linux beginner but so far it has been easy to use.

I'm going to give it a try. I've got 8.10 on my dual-boot home PC at the mo.

I love Ubuntu, especially while running an HTPC.

My router died halfway through downloading the torrent, so I only managed to finish downloading it last night...

I've not really had much chance to evaluate everything, but the administration and preferences forms seem a bit more functional and consistent now, and wireless networking is pretty good - I tried two different wireless network cards (one USB and one PCMCIA) and they just worked - and it found my wireless network, asked me for the passphrase and connected straight away without any fuss.

We have two computers running Ubuntu 9.10 at home. The other two have WindowsXP. I am quite impressed with Ubuntu.

Currently, I am learning how to use MySQL and PHP, for a database project that I am working on. Last night I was able to adapt some code from a book that I am using to do a dump of the MySQL database on the Ubuntu computer that I will be using for the database. I also have an Access program that can transfer the data from the WindowsXP computer holding the Access database to the Ubuntu (MySQL) computer. It will still be a long, as in long, time before I have the database fully moved to and operational on the Ubuntu computer. One step at a time.
