I want to place an image in a form, while in Windows Explorer I set the image to open with “Imaging” (Start/Accessories/ Imaging) and when I click the image it opens with that program OK. When I bring the image into the database with Insert Object, Create From File and then Linking, it will only open in “MGI PhotoSuit”. I have tried everything I can think of. I select display as Icon and I can only change the current icon and never the default icon. I would appreciate any assistance.

You have to change the Registry of the program you want to open with this file extension. Just open the Windows Explorer, find the picture file you want>right click on its name>click Open With>Choose program...>look for the program you want to open this file and then mark Always use this program to open this files.

The registration is done and try to test it out now.

Anyway, why don't you just only link the files to your db so it's light. Search this forum for Hyperlink key word, you'll find several ways to show the picture files in your db.

Tim K. Thank you for the reply. I had alredy done the first part, where you change the properties of the graphic and when I tried this while in Windows Explorer it worked OK, the Imaging program always opened the file. When in Access when I used Object Insert and Link, the graphic always opened in the original program, yet when I went back to Windows Explorer it opened in Imaging OK. Do you know how to correct the problem when the graphic is opened in Access? I would appreciate your advise.
